In the context of the new realities, it is important to expand the military and political presence of Russia in Armenia in the near future. This is what leader of Integration and Development NGO, coordinator of the Eurasian Expert Club Aram Safaryan said during today’s discussion entitled “Current Issues of the Armenian-Russian Strategic Union Amid the Modern Threats and Challenges”.
According to him, Armenian society feels the need for this, especially taking into consideration the fact that the society realized the role of Russia in the cessation of the war in 2020.
“The strengthening of Armenian-Russian relations is a necessity, especially amid the active efforts of Turkey and Azerbaijan in the region and the tightening of relations between the West and Russia. The strengthening of relations is the only way to resist the new challenges effectively. During the pre-election period in Armenia, it is important to create an atmosphere in which the people will understand the need for development of the Armenian-Russian relations,” the analyst emphasized.
